Install Free AWS VPS Server Tutorial

Virtual Private Servers are really powerful today and a Free AWS VPS Server is something you must have.

Did you know VPS Servers are almost the same as Dedicated in terms of capabilities, features and processing power? Using a Free AWS VPS Server gives all that with no cost.

You can have a Windows 2012 Server as well as Linux based. It is your choice and where you feel more experienced with.

For the whole process you have to follow these simple steps:

Download and Register a free account with Bluestacks here.

Use a Google+ Account to register. Then you have to install the app called Text+, by doing a search for the Play Store "textplus"

When you have installed the app, launch it. Register an account, use the same Google+ Account as before. When done, just call any number. It will popup a message about Emergency Calls, click OK.

Now just send a Text Message to any US number, it can be fake. This will let the app to popup a message with your Text+ Mobile Phone Number. Write it down, as you are going to need it for Amazon AWS Services verification.

 

Time to register the Amazon AWS Free Account

Go to Amazon AWS Services and login to your Amazon Account or register a new one.

Fill in your details if you are a new user.

Enter a Valid Working VCC or Debit/Credit Card. This is  needed because they must be sure you are going to pay after the free 1 Year promotional time.

Most users just keeps on rotating accounts after the time has expired.

When you have reach the Amazon AWS Services Verification they are going to ask for your Mobile Phone Number. Now you have to go to Bluestacks and load up Text+ App.

Enter the Text+ USA Mobile Phone Number you have wrote down before. Amazon is going to give you a PIN Number for verification.

Let them call to that number, check Bluestacks and accept the Call. Then just type the PIN and your Free AWS VPS Server is almost ready to setup.

Setup your AWS VPS Server

At your AWS Dashboard select EC2.

Inside the EC2 panel, go to Launch Instance.

Now you are going to see a listing for every VPS Server you can setup with AWS. We are going to show you here the Free Tier Elegible kind only.

Amazon Linux AMI 2015.09.1 (HVM), SSD Volume Type

The Amazon Linux AMI is an EBS-backed, AWS-supported image. The default image includes AWS command line tools, Python, Ruby, Perl, and Java. The repositories include Docker, PHP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and other packages.

As you can see you have a wide range VPS Servers to choose from. If you are a beginner, we recommend you to begin with the 64-bit Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Base

Select The Windows Server 2012 R2 Base and then choose "General Purposes - T2 Micro" As this would be the Free Tier Elegible instance for your AWS Account.

Select Review and Launch. A popup is going to appear, select Launch once again.

Now you have to setup the Key Pairing

Select Create a New Key Pair. Give it a Name, like "video" or anything you want.

Select Download Key Pair.

Now Launch the Instance. When done, select View Instances.

It will take some time to process showing up a Pending State. Wait for it to be ready.

When you see the Green State, click on Connect.

Now you have to click on Get Password. It will popup a waiting time to reset the default password, don't pay attention to this.

At the new window popup, you have to upload your Key Pair.

Select "Decrypt Password".

Write down the Public IP, User and Password to a Notepad.

Now Download Remote Desktop File.

On the popup click Connect.

Fill in your User Credentials, it would be your Password as the default user will be already Administrator.

It will open up your Windows 2012 VPS Server now.

You can create a Bing Account for it.
